Our Saturday night dinner and discussion will be in the gorgeous Granada Theatre.
Emporia State University's newly improved
Memorial Union will be the site of our daytime sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Kansas Dialogue will be among the first to enjoy it!
We'll gather on Friday night at the home of William Allen White, Emporia's most famous resident.
White was one of the most influential
journalists of his time.

Preliminary Schedule:
FRIDAY activities will be held at "Red Rock", the home of William Allen White.
Since we will be outside (weather permitting) the evening schedule will begin a little earlier so we can finish by sunset.
4:00 - Registration begins, and home is open for self-guided tours
5:00 - Reception
5:30 - Brief orientation for session leaders
5:45 - Dinner, followed by opening sessions - ending by 8:15
Hospitality room will feature free drinks and snacks.

SATURDAY will be a full day of conversation and exploration.  As the front porch to the Flint Hills, Emporia is the perfect stage to talk about land and environmental issues.  We also know that we want to take inspiration from William Allen White and discuss the role of newspapers in Kansas today. There will be a number of different sessions to choose from. We look forward to your thoughts and topic ideas.

DO YOU WANT TO GO TO THE FLINT HILLS? For many in the group, Saturday afternoon will be an opportunity to take a field trip to the Flint Hills with our resident expert Dr. Jim Hoy.  There will be bus transportation for 50 people.  THIS TOUR IS NOW FULL.

We will also be offering a guided bus tour of Emporia for those who don't go to the Flint Hills.

Saturday night will be an extra-special evening at the Granada Theatre in Emporia, where we will enjoy a sumptious Chuckwagon dinner catered by Josh Hoy of the Flying W Ranch.  We have invited Chris Walker, great-grandson of William Allen White, to help us discuss the past, present and future of Kansas journalism.

SUNDAY MORNING continues our tradition of staging our live Kansas Dialogue radio show - "This I Believe"... an inspiring collection of verbal essays from our group.  This is also the time when we tackle the most timely and diverse topics on our minds at small roundtable conversations.  We'll wrap it all up by noon.
